ANISIA AVRAM, policy officer at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), unit G.2 ‘Interactive technologies, Digital for Culture and Education’.
Anisia studied art history (Master of Arts in Art History – York University, Toronto, Canada) and business (Master of Business Administration – the Schulich School of Business, Toronto, Canada). She worked in six countries as a museum curator and in corporate social responsibility and marketing communications strategy for blue chip technology companies. At the European Commission, she works on the definition of policies related to digitization and on-line accessibility of cultural heritage. She coordinates and monitors the implementation of the Commission Recommendation on the digitisation and online accessibility of cultural material and digital preservation (2011/711/EU). Anisia also manages the governance of the Europeana initiative and the Expert Group on Digital Cultural Heritage and Europeana.
