GALIT ARIEL, Creative Director, WondARlands, Netherlands
Galit Ariel is a creative and strategic thinker with international leadership experience in industrial design, retail & fashion, and education. As a thought leader in Augmented Reality she delves into the wild and imaginative side of immersive technologies, researches their impact on culture and behaviour and considers ethical issues related to them. Her first book Augmenting Alice – The Future of Identity, Experience and Reality (2017) explores the manner in which Augmented Reality implementation will redefine core concepts within the human experience. Contributing to changed perceptions of reality, culture, space, identity, and ethics, the book integrates an augmented layer, allowing an additional experiential value, and the chance to update content and data layer.
Holding a BA in Product Design from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design (UK) and MA in Design Management from the Savannah College of Art and Design (USA), Galit helps clients and brands shape their augmented futures, exploring immersive narratives, interaction tools, brand touch-points and experience creation through her agency WondARlands. She is an international speaker and mentor featured at global conferences such as The Next Web, SXSW, Fifteen Seconds, Slush Tokyo, IVRPA and many more. She is also a member and co-founder of a UK based think-and-do-tank connected to the Ravensbourne University Architecture research centre looking at the future of urban environments and how they might influence the human experience.
