Co-Founder & Publisher, LIBRIOS Ltd
Hal Robinson has enjoyed a career in illustrated book publishing and is a specialist in information design and digital publishing. He is a co-founder of Librios Information Management Systems, a British content management and software business, and is passionate about the opportunities that are continuing to emerge for publishers in the digital publishing environment.
When creating illustrated books for international markets, he embraced the potential of digital technology to help this beautiful industry do what it does so well, only better.
At Coventry School of Art and Design, in seminars on change in publishing, he explored ways digital technology can be used to enhance the strengths while reducing weaknesses in publishing processes.
He co-founded Librios to put these ideas into practice and now counts Yale University Press, Simon & Schuster, Lannoo and Bloomsbury among clients in the UK, USA and continental Europe. Its approach combines flexibility in creative production with consistency across diverse products, whether those are digital or print. Its aim is to offer publishers the best of both worlds.
An innovative example is its ground-breaking work with Yale University Press on using digital technology to provide new opportunities for art and design publishers, including those in the museum and academic sectors. Librios is inspired by the view that digital and print formats complement each other, and that in combination their future can be very bright indeed.
