Mareike (1991) completed her undergraduate studies in English and American Literature at
the University of Freiburg and the University of Kent. She is currently finishing her master’s
degree in English Literature at the University of Freiburg. After an internship with
Kladdebuchverlag in 2014, the first crowdpublisher based in the German-Speaking region, she officially joined the team as editor and project manager in 2016.
kladdebuchverlag was founded in 2013 as a collegiate project between the Universities of
Freiburg, Zurich and Hamburg with the goal of finding and establishing new and inspiring ides
in the publishing business. With crowdfunding, lifestyle and fairness as its main pillars,
kladdebuchverlag hopes to revolutionize the publishing world and give the reader a stronger
CHEÄD, the mobile app introduced at this year’s book fair, follows the same principles.
The app presents a contemporary and innovative way for reading classic dramas by
Shakespeare, Shiller and co. in chat form on mobile devices while also aiming to serve as a
platform for new and original content.
