Tonya Nelson is Director of Museums and Cultural Programmes at University College London where she leads a team of cultural sector professionals who support the university in using arts to advance university research, teaching and public engagement. She was recently seconded to the UK Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to develop a new digital strategy for the cultural sector which is outlined in the Digital is Culture report: .https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/culture-is-digital. She is currently Chair of ICOM UK and a trustee of the National Gallery. Prior to entering the cultural sector, Tonya was a lawyer and management consultant in Washington, DC.
